The problem with hindsight

There are lots of phrases around that extol the positives of hindsight:

“Hindsight is a wonderful thing”

“Hindsight is 20/20”

“With the benefit of hindsight”

But if everyone had foresight wouldn’t the world be boring? If you already know the answers then you don’t ask the questions, you wouldn’t embark on the journey of discovery.

Tony Robbins identified some needs which although contradictory, to an extent, made sense.  Humankind wants a certain amount of certainty – that bad things are going to happen, that you’re not going to die right now.  But to keep the ‘spirit’ alive we also crave uncertainty – what if I did something this way rather than that? What enlightened comment about Mr Tumble is will my (nearly) 2 yr old tell me tomorrow?  It’s a really interesting talk, so I thought I’d share it.

As they, “life’s a journey and not a destination” so make your journey as interesting as possible.
